1. Answer the following questions

Explain the concept of Education.
Discuss Education from the perspectives of different
theories of education.

Explain Education as a process of
socialization and as a process of reconstruction of experiences.
2. Answer the following questions
in about 600 words :
Explain the nature of knowledge
and discipline. What are their relevance to a school curriculum ?
OR
Discuss the philosophy and aims
of education according to Idealistic and Pragmatic schools of thought. Are they
relevant to the present system of education ? Discuss.
3. Answer any
four of the following questions in about 150 words each :
(a) Define Curriculum. Explain
major view points of curriculum.
(b) How is curriculum planned at
the national and the state level ? Explain with an example from our Indian
context.
(c) What is curriculum evaluation
? Explain the different phases of curriculum evaluation.
(d) What are the aims of
Education according to the National Curriculum framework
(2005) ? To what extent are they
reflected in our school curriculum ?
(e) Explain the Pancha Koshas
(five sheaths) and their aims in all round development of
an individual.
(f) Explain the Buddhist theory
of Causation.
4. Answer the
following question in about 600 words :
Discuss the concept and aims of
education according to Paulo Friere and John Dewey. Critically examine to what
extent are they reflected in our current educational system.
