What is meant by 'social diversity' ? Discuss how social diversity influences Indian education system.
OR
Differentiate between alternative education and traditional education. Explain how Open and Distance Learning System (ODLS) is an alternative to traditional education system.
3. Answer any four of the following questions in about 150 words each :
(a) Differentiate between Cooley's theory of socialization and Mead's theory of socialization.
(b) Mention the factors that affect social mobility.
(c) Differentiate between direct and indirect costs of education.
(d) Examine how shaping of right to education was influenced by Universal Declaration of
Human Rights.
(e) State various modes of knowledge transfer.
(f) Explain why teaching is called a profession.

Examine the relationship between ideology and curriculum in the context of post-indepence India.
